MAINTENANCE WORKER II - SOLID WASTE MAINTENANCE WORKER II – Solid Waste Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division Up to $2,500 sign on bonus available to external candidate! Expected Schedule: Monday thru Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM The Public Works Department is seeking a qualified applicant to join the Solid Waste team. Successful applicant must be able to work holidays and some Saturday’s and when called in for winter operations. Required Skills & Experience: Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain Solid Waste equipment including rubbish packers, recycling trucks, roll-off trucks. Must also have ability to operate and maintain winter equipment including dump trucks and front-end loaders as required. Applicants must possess good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public. Must possess valid Maine Class A or B driver’s license (must provide license number). Must pass pre-employment medical exam and fitness assessment and pass federally mandated drug test. Must have and maintain good driving record. Applications accepted until filled. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check. Salary & Benefits: This is a union position, Labor & Trades (Grade 17-CDL) - Starting Salary Range: $26.14/hour to $28.28/hour, plus a $2.00/hour market rate stipend.
