Job Description – Sales Associate Job Title: Sales Associate Location: New York, NY 10036 Industry: Diamond (Gems) & Jewelry (B2B) Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Sales Associate to support our B2B jewelry sales operations. This role involves engaging with clients across both inbound and outbound channels, building relationships, and supporting the sales cycle from inquiry to order fulfilment. The position is designed as a growth role, where individuals will develop strong product knowledge, client management skills, and sales capabilities, with the goal of progressing into a Senior Sales Associate position over time.Key Responsibilities Sales & Client Engagement 1. Handle client interactions across inbound and outbound channels, including calls, emails, & follow-ups. 2. Understand customer requirements related to diamonds, jewelry products, pricing, and timelines. 3. Assist in converting inquiries into sales opportunities through effective communication. 4. Support upselling and cross-selling of products based on customer needs. 5. Build and maintain relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and trade clients. Sales Support & Coordination6. Prepare and share quotations, invoices, and order confirmations. 7. Coordinate with inventory, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely delivery. 8. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in CRM systems. 9. Follow up on pending inquiries, quotations, and orders to drive closuresMarket Exposure & Learning 10. Gain understanding of diamond grading (4Cs), jewelry products, and pricing dynamics. 11. Stay updated on market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity. 12. Support senior team members in client meetings, trade shows, and exhibitions when required. Performance & Growth 13. Work towards achieving individual and team sales targets. 14. Continuously improve sales skills, product knowledge, and client handling capabilities. 15. Demonstrate readiness to take on larger accounts and responsibilities over time. Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field preferred. • 1–3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or B2B environments. • Strong verbal and written English communication skills. • Basic understanding of sales processes and customer handling. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools. • Willingness to learn and grow within the diamond and jewelry industry. Preferred Skills • Exposure to diamonds, jewelry, or luxury product sales. • Understanding of the United States B2B market. • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
