This role is part of the markets & strategy (M&S) team. This exciting position provides an opportunity to gain strategic insight into our company and business development processes. As a part of an expanding department, this internship will help you acquire marketing and proposal management skills in a fast-paced and creative work environment.We take our internship program serious – many of our top and tenured performers were produced from this program. We have every intent to hire graduates as a result of this program who meet expectations.District OverviewOur Business Development group is comprised of business development managers, business line management, marketing and proposal professionals, and graphic artists. We represent the market centric strategy group to assure consistent outcomes from our pursuit and market positioning efforts.LocationThis position is based out of our Lenexa, KS office.ResponsibilitiesDevelop compelling and professional presentations and materialsDevelop marketing materials including capabilities overviews and social media postsResearch company project history and populate centralized experience database with relevant data and informationAssist in reviewing, editing, and updating website content Participate in various stages of the proposal processMaintain department filing systems and records using software such as SharePoint and Smartsheet Other duties as needed including meeting support, document formatting, editing, printing, and shipping QualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Business or related fieldDemonstrated commitment to quality with attention to detail and consistency in work productExcellent communication, writing, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills required; technical writing skills preferredDependableEnergetic and outgoing personality with the ability and desire to work in a team environmentAbility to work well with others; a positive attitude with a willingness to learnAbility to problem solve and find multiple solutions under tight time constraintsAbility to professionally handle constructive criticismProficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
