This leadership role ensures high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and operational efficiency while supporting organizational goals and patient satisfaction initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical LeadershipSupervise and support nursing staff in delivering safe, high-quality patient careEnsure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standardsMonitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiativesServe as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staffPromote evidence-based nursing practices and patient safety standardsStaff ManagementRecruit, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate nursing personnelDevelop staffing schedules and ensure appropriate nurse-to-patient ratiosConduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective action when neededFoster a positive and collaborative work environmentSupport employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiativesOperational & Financial OversightManage departmental budgets, labor productivity, and supply utilizationMonitor overtime, staffing metrics, and operational efficienciesCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow and patient throughputParticipate in strategic planning and departmental goal settingEnsure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital reporting standardsPatient & Family RelationsAddress patient and family concerns in a timely and professional mannerPromote exceptional patient experience and service excellenceSupport patient education and discharge planning initiativesQualificationsActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable stateBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred3–5+ years of acute care nursing experiencePrior leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong knowledge of hospital operations, patient care standards, and regulatory requirementsExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsProficiency with EMR systems and healthcare technologyPreferred CertificationsBLS and ACLS certificationsNurse Leadership certification preferredSpecialty certification related to assigned unit preferredWork EnvironmentHospital inpatient or specialty care settingFast-paced clinical environment requiring strong decision-making and multitasking abilitiesCore CompetenciesLeadership & Team DevelopmentClinical ExcellencePatient Safety & Quality ImprovementOperational ManagementCommunication & CollaborationConflict ResolutionStrategic Thinking
