Our mission-driven team thrives on innovation, inclusivity, and impact.About the RoleWe’re seeking a detail‑driven HR Compliance Specialist to ensure our HR operations remain legally compliant, audit‑ready, and grounded in accurate, well‑governed data. This role centers on regulatory compliance, HRIS integrity, and the disciplined use of HR data to reduce risk and strengthen organizational controls.What You’ll DoRegulatory Compliance & Audit ReadinessEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, NJ regulations).Conduct internal audits of personnel files, I‑9s/E‑Verify, payroll classifications, and timekeeping.Support and document internal investigations, employee relations issues, and compliance grievances.Monitor regulatory changes and update policies, SOPs, and HR practices accordingly.HRIS Administration & Data GovernanceServe as an HRIS admin (Paycom, Workday, ADP, UKG or similar expereince preferred).Maintain system accuracy and ensure clean, compliant employee data across all modules.Oversee data governance standards to support audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements.HR Data & Compliance AnalyticsBuild and maintain compliance dashboards, audit logs, and reporting tools.Analyze HR data to identify risks, trends, and process improvement opportunities.Provide compliance‑focused metrics (turnover, overtime, leave usage, classification accuracy).Supply accurate data extracts and documentation for internal and external audits.Use data insights to strengthen policies, workflows, and internal controls.What You Bring3–5 years in HR compliance, HR operations, or HRIS administration.Strong working knowledge of employment laws and compliance frameworks.Hands‑on experience with a major HRIS platform.Demonstrated skill in HR reporting, auditing, and data analysis.Exceptional attention to detail and high integrity with sensitive information.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a compliance‑heavy environment.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.Certifications: PHR, SHRM‑CP, HRIP.Experience in compliance‑intensive industries (healthcare, nonprofit, government‑funded services).Experience supporting auditsEqual Opportunity StatementThe Arc Mercer is an equal opportunity employer.
