This role will be responsible for conducting security assessments, validating cloud architectures, implementing security controls, and ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform security, cloud governance, risk management, and secure-by-design principles.Required Skills & Qualifications 7+ years of experience in Cloud Security, Cybersecurity, or Cloud Infrastructure Security Hands-on experience performing security assessments and reviews of Google Cloud Platform environments Strong expertise with core Google Cloud Platform services including:Identity & Access Management (IAM) Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Compute Engine Cloud Storage Cloud SQL Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Cloud KMS Cloud Logging Security Command Center Experience reviewing GitHub repositories, code, and configuration files (JSON, YAML, etc.) for security and compliance validation Strong understanding of:Secure identity architecture Privileged access management Network segmentation Encryption and key management Google Cloud Platform Shared Responsibility Model Organization Policy Framework Experience with Google Cloud Platform-native security tools such as:Security Command Center (SCC) Event Threat Detection Cloud Asset Inventory Forseti or equivalent governance tools Ability to review Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager) for security risks and compliance requirements Experience mapping cloud implementations to security frameworks including:NIST ISO 27001 CIS Google Cloud Platform Foundations CSA CCM Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills Roles & ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive security reviews and risk assessments of Google Cloud Platform services, architectures, and cloud workloads Evaluate cloud solutions across infrastructure, platform, and application layers to ensure compliance with security standards Provide security recommendations and remediation guidance to support secure-by-design cloud adoption Support cloud governance, certification, and authorization initiatives Implement and maintain Google Cloud Platform cybersecurity controls and security services Collaborate with cloud engineering, architecture, and application teams to strengthen cloud security posture Assess cloud environments against enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements Support continuous improvement of cloud security assessment methodologies and standards Contribute to platform security engineering initiatives and cloud security automation efforts Preferred Qualifications Experience validating GitHub schema definitions and configuration standards Knowledge of policy-as-code and compliance automation tools such as:Config Validator OPA/Gatekeeper Experience securing containerized and serverless workloads including:GKE Cloud Run Cloud Functions Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer Certification Experience with developer portals and governance platforms such as Cortex, Backstage, Prisma, or similar solutions Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) platforms Key SkillsGoogle Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Cloud Security Engineering IAM & Access Management Kubernetes Security (GKE) Terraform & Infrastructure as Code Security Command Center Cloud Governance & Compliance GitHub Security Reviews CSPM Tools NIST / ISO 27001 / CIS Controls Policy as Code Risk & Security AssessmentsJob Title: Cloud Security EngineerLocation: Phoenix, AZExperience Required: 7+ YearsKey SkillsGoogle Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Cloud Security Engineering IAM & Access Management Kubernetes Security (GKE) Terraform & Infrastructure as Code Security Command Center Cloud Governance & Compliance GitHub Security Reviews CSPM Tools NIST / ISO 27001 / CIS Controls Policy as Code Risk & Security Assessments
