Senior Project Architect
OverviewWith over 30 years in practice, one of the country’s leading architectural & interior design firms specializing in life sciences, education, and workplace is actively seeking a Senior Project Architect to join their San Francisco or Sacramento office. The studio specializes in the design of laboratories, clean rooms, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and high-performance workplace environments, for clients working in the life sciences, electronics, mission-critical, education, and medicine.With 180+ staff, they provide programming, master planning, building, and interior design services, including laboratory, cGMP, and medical planning, to new and established companies, institutions, developers, and healthcare providers. Office locations include Mountain View, San Francisco, Sacramento, and San DiegoRole RequirementsThe company is seeking a passionate, experienced Senior Project Architect, with a minimum of 10 years of technical expertise in commercial architecture, including demonstrated success on a range of corporate project types (life science, healthcare, or high-tech laboratory design a plus). (Core & Shell experience is required, but life science experience is a plus!)Qualifications, Specific Skills, and Responsibilities:California licensure is a plusBachelor’s degree in ArchitectureCommunicate effectively both orally and in writing with confidence and professionalismExceptional organizational skillsProven capacity for leadership responsibilities and directing a teamWork effectively on multiple projects, to set priorities and maintain schedulesDesign development experience, planning, coordinating and overseeing the production of construction drawings.Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancyContract management, experience negotiating project scope and feesDevelop and maintain the project budget and schedule, monitor and communicate production and financial progressAn understanding of building materials, details, and construction techniquesA thorough knowledge of building codes, standards, and ADA expertiseAbility to work constructively with entitlement agenciesKnowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelinesAdvanced knowledge of QA/QC processAbility to coordinate with consultants and contractorsConstruction administration skills and experienceHave the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new onesMust be proficient in Revit / Autodesk Building Design, along with MS Office Suite.
