Senior Payroll Specialist

Location: North Side of Indianapolis, INSalary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually (depending on experience)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to manage and execute accurate, timely payroll processing for a growing organization on the north side of Indianapolis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and serves as a subject matter expert on payroll compliance, systems, and best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for multi-state employees with a high degree of accuracyEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulationsMaintain and audit payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and benefitsServe as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues and employee inquiriesReconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and payroll tax filingsCoordinate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate employee dataSupport payroll audits and year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distributionRecommend and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracyAssist with payroll system upgrades, implementations, or integrations as neededQualifications5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid-to-large-sized organizationStrong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax reporting, and wage/hour regulationsExperience processing multi-state payroll strongly preferredProficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday, Paychex, or similar)#INMAY2026
