Maintenance Technician IPillar Properties has an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at The Lex, our beautiful property in Tacoma, WA!We develop high-quality buildings on our terms. This includes appropriate physical plant budgets and opportunities to foster and grow your skill sets.The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for assisting in the physical upkeep and maintenance of both the interior and exterior building(s) and surrounding property.What You'll Do:Maintain all apartments and common areas with preventative maintenance as the goalComplete all written work orders assigned in a timely mannerAssist with plumbing (e.g., sinks, toilets, and bathtubs)Assist with minor electrical work within units and in common areas (e.g., light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc.)Paint apartments and majority of common areasAssist with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communicationsRespond to all community emergencies as requestedTravel as assigned between local properties, if applicableOther duties as assignedWhat You Bring:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with residents, employees, and vendorsAbility to work a flexible schedule with regular and timely attendanceMust have own hand toolsBasic prep and painting abilitiesResults-driven focus and approachStrong customer services skillsAdaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong sense of integrity and ethicsPhysical Requirements: This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 90 lbs.), pushing/pulling, and other physical activities.
