Senior Video Editor
We’re seeking a Senior Video Editor to join our Emmy Award-winning production team in Louisville, KY. This role is purpose-built for a post‑production craftsperson who lives in the edit bay and turns raw footage into compelling stories. You’ll cut a wide range of work‑commercials, brand campaigns, social content, event recaps, and branded series‑partnering closely with producers, creative directors, and our production crew.
Key Responsibilities
Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos for commercials, campaigns, social media, and branded content.
Shape story, pacing, and emotional arc through thoughtful cuts, structure, and rhythm.
Collaborate closely with producers, creative directors, and the production crew to execute the project vision.
Perform color correction and color grading to deliver a consistent, cinematic look across deliverables.
Add motion graphics, lower thirds, titles, music, and sound design to elevate storytelling.
Mix and clean up audio-dialogue leveling, noise reduction, music balancing, and final loudness compliance.
Adapt and version content for various platforms and formats (e.g., Reels, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, broadcast, OTT).
Integrate AI‑powered tools for editing, transcription, color grading, and post‑production enhancements.
Manage media ingest, organization, proxies, backups, and project archiving according to RedTag standards.
Prepare final deliverables to spec (codecs, frame rates, aspect ratios, captions) for client and platform requirements.
Stay up to date on trends in editing, motion design, sound, and post‑production technology.
Qualifications
3–7 years of professional experience in video editing and post‑production, preferably in an agency or fast‑paced creative environment.
Advanced editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
Strong understanding of story, pacing, composition, and visual storytelling.
Proficiency with color correction and color grading workflows.
Solid audio editing fundamentals—dialogue, music, and sound design.
Experience with AI‑driven creative tools is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across creative, production, and account teams.
Reel/portfolio demonstrating range, craft, and storytelling across multiple formats.
Motion graphics and basic 2D animation in After Effects.
Experience cutting for social‑first formats and vertical video.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Familiarity with footage from cinema cameras (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED) and varied codecs/log profiles.
Working knowledge of audio mixing in Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or DaVinci Fairlight.
Captioning, subtitling, and accessibility best practices.
Experience working in a fast paced environments, ideally in‑agency.
