This role requires the Payroll Manager to be a Certified Payroll Professional and is hybrid, once a week on-site.Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager positionLead the process of timely and accurate weekly, biweekly, and monthly multi-state, non-union, and union payrolls for company subsidiariesCoach and develop a team of 3-4 payroll administratorsAnalyze payrolls and transmitting payroll files to ADP on weekly/biweekly basisAdhering to payroll best practices, guidelines, and proceduresSuggest automation and improvement on payroll related processesSupport timekeeping (Oracle Time and Labor) and payroll systemsLead the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)Provide oversight to manual checks and wiresBe the integral part during conversions and acquisitionsEnsure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local lawsCoordinate with auditors on SOX, internal, and external auditsLead testing on new system upgrades, new calculation set ups, projects, and data analysesWork with HR and accounting teams to reconcile discrepanciesKeep current accurate records and preparing reports for auditsSolve issues and answering payroll-related questionsBring awareness to complex questions to Payroll DirectorLead Workers Compensation and Multiple Work Site location reports on a quarterly basisCoordinate SUI rates, updating and resolving ADP charges to invoices for accuracyAssist to resolve any tax variances presented by the payroll tax accountantCoordinate quarter and year end activitiesRequirements of the Payroll Manager positionProven 3+ years of experience as a payroll manager processing over 5000+ employeesMultistate payroll experience is requiredCPP, Certified Payroll Professional credentials are requiredCurrent knowledge of labor, payroll procedures and related tax lawsUnderstanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and union contractsKnowledge with payroll software ADP Vantage or WFN, ADPR reportingExperience in system implementationsProven organizational and team leadership development experienceAble to work with others, cross-functionally and build relationshipsStrong interpersonal, customer service and communication skillsBSC/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or relatedAdvanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize tasks and projects effectively
