As the Director of Fiber Construction and Project Management at Socket Fiber, you'll be a key strategic leader responsible for the oversight of all our fiber network construction projects in defined key market areas including the Memphis area. This role will also partner with the Installation Supervisor and play a key part in overseeing the installation team's operations, providing leadership support, optimizing workflows, and reinforcing a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.This is a crucial role that combines strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on project management to ensure our network expansion is executed efficiently, safely, and on budget.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Oversight & PlanningDevelop and implement a long-term construction strategy that aligns with the company's growth goals. This includes creating project plans, budgets, and timelines for our fiber network expansion.Project ExecutionOversee all phases of construction projects, from initial design and planning to execution and completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, meeting all quality and safety standards.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and manage a team of in-house construction crews and project managers. Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and high performance.Vendor and Contractor ManagementCoordinate and manage all third-party vendors, contractors, and subcontractors. This includes negotiating contracts, managing bids, and ensuring work is completed to our specifications.Compliance & SafetyGuarantee all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as building codes and safety protocols.Budget & Resource ManagementManage project budgets, track expenditures, and allocate resources effectively to optimize cost-effectiveness and avoid delays.Stakeholder CommunicationAct as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, engineers, and local officials, providing regular project updates and addressing any issues.RequirementsA minimum of 5 years of experience in construction (fiber construction preferred), with at least 3 years in a supervisory or director-level role, preferably within the telecommunications or utility industries.Proven expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, such as fiber-optic network build-outs.In-depth knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and best practices.Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with relevant software and tools for project management and construction oversight.A strong commitment to safety and compliance.A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Why Join Socket Fiber?At Socket Fiber, we're redefining what it means to connect communities.
