The largest of Duke Health's four hospitals with 1062 patient beds, it features comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic facilities, including a regional emergency/trauma center, an endo-surgery center, and more.Duke Nursing Highlights:Duke University Health System is designated as a Magnet organizationNurses from each hospital are consistently recognized each year as North Carolina's Great 100 Nurses.Duke University Health System was awarded the American Board of Nursing Specialties Award for Nursing Certification Advocacy for being strong advocates of specialty nursing certification.Duke University Health System has 6000 + registered nursesQuality of Life: Living in the Triangle!Relocation Assistance (based on eligibility)***Experienced RNs may be eligible for a $20,000 Commitment Bonus (terms and conditions apply)***This position is eligible for relocation assistance up to $8,000 (terms and conditions apply)**Please note that this position is open only to experienced candidates (with at least one year of RN experience). ***Unit and Shift:The Emergency Department at Duke University Hospital comprises 81 total beds, including 10 Pediatric beds, 47 Adult Monitored beds, 8 Psychiatric beds, 5 Fast Track Beds, 4 Triage beds, 1 Sexual Assault Examiner Room/ 4 Resus Rooms, and a dedicated central telemetry station.Shift: Full-time three-day schedule of either nights (7 p.m.-7 a.m.) or a rotating night/day.Job Summary:As an Experienced RN with Duke University Health System, you will prioritize providing service while caring for the whole person in a patient-centered atmosphere. The experienced RN is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities and utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients guided by the DUHS Professional Practice model, participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects, or other health-related projects as assigned. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:Previous work experience (1+ years) as a clinical nurse is required; at least one year of previous work experience as a registered nurse is requiredGraduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program is required.
