Job SummaryUrban is seeking an experienced Construction Specialist to work in our Integrated Services Business Unit. The successful candidate will be a dedicated professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The candidate will use their expertise in transportation infrastructure and project management to support multidisciplinary projects with a focus on project planning, oversight, and execution.The Construction Specialist will be responsible for providing key technical support with estimating, constructability, scheduling, and value engineering for transportation & facility design and construction projects. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage multiple engineering disciplines and subconsultants while meeting project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and/or review cost estimates and CPM schedules during any stage of design development Prepare detailed cost estimates for a wide variety of projects including highway, bridge, marine, transit, and rail designs for internal and external customersMaintain proper documentation for all estimates, schedules, constructability reviews Provide estimating, scheduling and constructability support related to value engineering efforts, change order review, programmatic estimates, risk assessments and project control servicesPresent technical findings, schedules, cost estimates, and risk assessments to internal and external stakeholders.Monitor construction activities for conformance with contract documentsComplete daily reports, quantity calculations, and testing reports for construction work observedInterface with various inspections staff, utility companies, railroad, and various government agenciesProvide proactive communication with the contractor, designer, and client to progress the project in a manner that meets the client’s project goals Quality Control Testing of Materials, as requiredJob Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Construction Management or related field is required 10 to 15 years of experience in the contracting and construction management of highway, bridge, marine, transit, and rail along with at least 5 years of construction contractor experience PE license is preferred Familiar with estimating and scheduling software Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contractual procedures with keen attention to project risks and quality control.Pay Rate: $100,000 - $120,000 / annuallyBenefits Of Working At UrbanMedical/PrescriptionDentalVisionLife InsuranceShort/Long Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Accounts401K and company matchVacation, Holiday, and Personal DaysTuition ReimbursementProfessional DevelopmentCertification Bonus
