Project Controls Specialist (Cost Manager)

With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:As a Cost Manager, you will assist with Capital Project Controls activities (estimating, cost management, planning/scheduling, risk management, change management and contract) during the design and construction phases of capital projects working directly with the project management team and other supporting staff for a world-class pharmaceutical client.Role accountabilities:This role requires someone who works well in a fast-paced environment providing project and cost controls support for multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have cost, financial, commercial and schedule controls experience, ideally within the commercial sector. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and must be capable of executing technical and analytical functions, and be well organized with strong communication skills.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Provide support to project teams throughout the project lifecycleProvide project level reports including detailed analysis of project cost and changesSupport the Project Management team in reporting current months Work In Place and future forecastsMaintaining and controlling project budgets from design concept through to project completionAssisting with control of total project costs (direct and indirect costs)Performing regular project health checks to ensure they remain within budgetSupporting change management activities including project change requests and updating project change control logsExecute change processes, including RFA / RFI Submittal Log updates, and assure alignment with budget, schedule, or risk impactsCompleting cost validation and quantity surveying on an as needed basisReconcile project costs during the project lifecycle and support financial closeout as requiredReconciling program and project controls data with the client’s fiscal and financial control systemsPresenting results of cost analysis to senior staff and clientsConduct monthly audits of invoices and Purchase Orders on behalf of the Project ManagerSupport the Project Manager with all aspects of the bidding process, including RFP preparation and analysis of bidsProvide support to the project controls delivery lead with capital and finance driven reportsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) or equivalent work experience, is desired5 – 10 years of relevant experienceDesired skills and experience:Excellent written and oral communications skills required as well as the ability to interact with staff at all levelsUnderstanding of construction means and methodologyAbility to read and understand design informationExperience using cost and scheduling software including Primavera P6 & SAPAbility to travel up to clients offices within the region as a hybrid role [60%] Preferred Qualifications:Professional license or working towards a professional license (RICS, CCM, AACE)Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $146,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
