Mechanical Engineering Graduate Designer | Jacksonville, FLIMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Graduate Designer in Jacksonville, FL, to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions and advice that drive positive client outcomes. In this role, you'll assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while supporting project goals, budgets, and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesComplete assigned engineering tasks of low to moderate complexityAssist in the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systemsUtilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standardsInteract with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communicationSupport the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team, including assisting in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectivesAssist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progressAnalyze low to moderate complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultantsParticipate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirementsStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEGPrioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work by identifying and mitigating potential safety risks associated with mechanical systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required1 year of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry requiredEngineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferredDeveloping proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsStrong technical and analytical skills including developing proficiency of principles relating to thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics as it relates to mechanical systems design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for buildingsProficiency in industry standard engineering software and tools including HVAC load calculation softwareExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to learn and adapt to new challengeDeveloping proficiency in the use of BIM softwareAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join UsIMEG puts people first-with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
