Remote Senior Rust Developer

We are seeking a Senior Rust Developer to advance computational biology by building scalable, open-source workflow engines that enable scientists to efficiently manage large-scale computations.Responsibilities include: contributing to the development of the Sprocket workflow engine and related Rust crates, enhancing the Workflow Description Language (WDL) and Task Execution Schema (TES), developing reference implementations, and maintaining comprehensive API documentation.Collaborate with the internal team to communicate progress and support open standards in scientific workflows.Qualifications: senior proficiency in Rust with a proven track record of production code, experience with open-source projects, and familiarity with workflow engines, scientific computing, or large-scale computation. Strong skills in API design, Rust crates, and GitHub collaboration are essential.Optional skills: knowledge of OpenAPI, WDL, TES, Kubernetes, cloud/HPC environments, and standards bodies.The role offers: a remote, full-time position with opportunities to work on impactful open-source technology, influencing standards in scientific workflows.
