As a Recovery Technician with VisionFirst you will surgically procure donor eye tissue for one of the largest eye banks in the country.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a fantastic attitude, a willingness to learn, and a high school diploma or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a medical or surgical background. If you join our team with these qualities, we can teach you the technical and clinical aspects of the job. Must be physically able to lift weight more than fifty (50) pounds. A qualified candidate must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Perform surgical recovery of ocular tissue for transplant and/or research, including drawing blood samples for serological testing
Perform microscopic evaluation of tissues intended for transplant.
Prepare eye tissue and biological specimens for transport
Transport ocular tissue and related specimens to laboratory.
Maintain medical supply inventory.
Assists and/or perform ocular tissue processing.
Verify medical supplies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Perform preventative maintenance of laboratory and critical equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
