This position plays a critical role in managing financial and operational risk associated with global trade activities, with a strong emphasis on letters of credit and international documentation. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who want a stable environment with meaningful responsibility and exposure to complex international transactions.ResponsibilitiesManage the issuance, tracking, and compliance of standby and documentary letters of credit.Review and validate letters of credit documentation to ensure adherence to UCP 600, ISP98, and ICC Publication No. 725 standards.Verify credit terms, including amounts, insurance coverage, and shipping conditions, for compliance.Coordinate import and export documentation in accordance with U.S. and international customs regulations.Notify exporters and importers of issued letters of credit related to shipments.Evaluate and accept or reject documents presented under letters of credit.Recommend amendments to letters of credit and ensure export documentation accuracy.Collaborate with loan officers to align customer credit and collateral documentation with banking standards.Provide INCOTERM guidance to traders, schedulers, and back-office personnel.Prepare export invoices and distribute shipping documentation to international buyers.Coordinate with freight forwarders and inspection agencies to finalize shipping documentation.Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders regarding letter of credit processes and requirements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 3+ years of experience in letters of credit, trade finance, or import/export operations.Working knowledge of UCP 600, ISP98, and ICC Uniform Rules for Bank-to-Bank Reimbursement (Publication No. 725).Experience in commodities trading environments preferred.Banking or trade finance experience is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Experience with ETRM systems such as RightAngle preferred.Knowledge of international shipping documentation and customs requirements.Familiarity with INCOTERMS and global trade compliance standards.Strong analytical and documentation review capabilities.
