Summer Intern

Position ResponsibilitiesMultimodal Transportation Planning & SupportSupport a team of transportation and transit planners on a variety of projects.Conduct research and data collection related to transportation and mobility trends.Document and analyze existing conditions and transportation patterns.Assist with data organization, reporting, and maintaining project databases.Create maps, visuals, and other content to support reports and recommendations.Stay informed on trends and best practices by participating in training courses and industry events. Community Engagement SupportAssist with stakeholder outreach, canvassing, and reportingHelp create interactive activities for youth and community participants.Support documentation of engagement activities and preparation of engagement reports.Attend and assist with community meetings, outreach events, and workshops (in-person and virtual).Assist with content creation for project communications and online engagement efforts.Research best practices in inclusive public engagement and outreach. General ResponsibilitiesComply with company policies, procedures, work hours, and safety protocols.Attend required training, meetings, team-building activities, and orientation sessions.Follow supervisor guidance and provide regular progress updates.Contribute to meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up tasks.Assist with project documentation and administrative support as needed.Manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail.Preferred Education/Experience High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus enrolled in undergraduate or graduate Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, Economics, Geography, or other closely related programs.    Required Experience and Knowledge Some experience or coursework related to public engagement, community outreach, planning, or data collection. Demonstrated interest in equitable transportation and mobility issues. Possess a valid driver's license.  Skills andQualifications: Desire to improve transportation access and mobility for all users.  Enthusiastic, flexible, creative self-starter able to work independently, with oversight, and in a team environment. Eager to tackle new projects and ideas.  Must be available at least 20 hours per week, in the office or on the project site during standard business hours and some weekends.  Basic computer and data entry skills and familiarity with Microsoft suite of applications. Strong, clear oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate interpersonal skills including leadership, volunteerism, or other community involvement. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.  Supervisory Responsibilities:N/A  Work environment Physical demands Travel required: Professional office environment, occasional work-from-home, travel required, must be able to lift 30 pounds.  Affirmative Action/EEO Statement: Fairpointe Planning is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, military status, race, religion, marital status, or other protected classes under the law.  Fairpointe Planning is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.   recblid rusn5zfruan54s4bpu0td442qzrn1c
