Director, Employee Experience
The Director of Employee Experience is a senior leadership role within the client, responsible for enhancing the employee experience throughout the organization. Reporting to the Managing Director of Talent and Employee Experience, this position focuses on ensuring that the institution's people systems are clear, values-driven, and contribute to high performance. The Director's primary responsibilities include managing employee relations, leading investigations, and ensuring the effectiveness of performance evaluation systems and interventions. The role is critical in equipping leaders with tools to manage their teams effectively and maintain high standards with fairness and empathy across the organization. In addition to managing a small team, the Director of Employee Experience partners with various departments, including Legal, Finance, Technology, and Marketing and Communications, to ensure compliance and equity in people practices. The position is based out of the Midtown Manhattan office, with a hybrid work schedule requiring at least three in-person days per week. The Director is also expected to travel to campuses across the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, as needed, to maintain a presence and address challenges at the school level in alignment with leadership directives. The Director plays a pivotal role in advancing organizational health by implementing proactive engagement strategies and analyzing trends in employee data. This includes designing and overseeing performance intervention plans and managing the annual intent-to-return process. The aim is to support retention and nurture a professional culture that aligns with the organization's values of excellence, accountability, and belonging. The Director also uses insights from data analysis to drive continuous improvement in practices that strengthen engagement and prevent issues before they arise.
