CNC Machinist-Turning (2nd Shift)

Perform complete changeovers and achieve first piece inspections through executing required program edits / offsets. Accurately measure parts and complete associated quality documentation while ensuring production output is achieved. Operate other CNC Turning or Milling Machines when neededESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSRetrieve job related information: routing, drawing, program, inspection sheets, etc.Review raw material for dimensions, quantity, defects, maintain heat lot traceabilityPerform all change-over related activities through first piece inspection, edits-offsetsUtilize precision tools and gages to measure part features / dimensions and document results according to in-process quality inspection requirements and AQL sampling intervals.Detect and troubleshoot machining and programming issues as they occurOperate secondary equipment to finish and clean parts for subsequent operationsMaintain high level of awareness and attention to detail to achieve quality and production resultsUtilize PC or Laptop to record labor and production informationTrain other operators as needed on job related itemsFollows prescribed safety rules and procedures for all workPerform routine equipment maintenance and keep work area in a clean orderly condition.Provide end-of-shift report activities EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:3-5 five years of experience set up and operating 3 & 4 Axis CNC Turning MachinesExtensive knowledge of part drawings, GD&T, and associated shop mathExperience with Fanuc controls using G & M programming codeStrong knowledge of material types and characteristics related to machining techniquesProficiently measure exacting tolerances on a consistent basis with shop tools, gages, equip.Ability to operate or program CMM's would be a plus for any candidateExperience working within ISO-9001 and AS-9100 quality machining environmentsHigh School or GED diploma, CNC Degree, Journeyman MachinistCOMPETENCIES:Deliver Results: Hold self-accountable, acting with urgency and resilience to deliver on commitments, attention to detail, problem-solving and customer service orientation.Goal Orientated: High level ambition and positive attitude about long term prospects for successfully addressing new and demanding challenges.Drive Operational Excellence: Collaborate with team and share knowledge and ideas with a real drive to get things done faster, honest and high level of integrity.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
