We understand its strengths and are focused on them to secure a bright future for its customers, its employees, and itselfWHAT WE NEED:We are looking for a hands-on Manager who will be responsible for driving measurable change in the productivity of its opera ti ons by identifying areas for improvement and recommending processes, people, and equipment to achieve these improvementsRESPONSIBILITIES:Analyzing and improving existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste, as well as the development and implementation of SOPs for new and existing processes and for preventative and predictive maintenanceThis position regularly interacts with multidisciplinary engineering functions in the areas of operating budgets, measurement, and control of project performance against goals regarding capacity, efficiency, quality, and safety for capital and maintenance projectsGuides compliance with all applicable regulations of the Regulatory Government Agencies.Acts as a resource for designing and installing new/enhanced systemsWHAT YOU'LL DO:Provide engineered solutions and root cause analysis for complex manufacturing on legacy equipmentLead, coach, and develop our Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager, with potential to expand team responsibilities as the organization growsPartner with the Director of Continuous Improvement & Planning to help lead initiatives that improve yield, reduce scrap, and drive cost savings. Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and product development teams to drive improvements in overall plant performance. Assess the overall value of manufacturing capital improvements and maintenance projectsDevelop project plans to include budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirementsPrioritizes multiple schedules and project deliverables through consensus building and cooperationEngages with the Corporate Engineering group, utilizing Central Engineering resources when applicableCreate, document, and implement clear and effective SOPs for all critical processesTrain operators and supervisors to ensure adherence and consistencyRegularly review and update SOPs to reflect process changes and improvementsContinuously analyze costs and develop cost reduction plans for capital improvements and maintenance projects; provide support to facility managers in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives as neededPerforms a variety of financial analyses associated with cost reduction efforts and total production costs. Identifies resources required for assigned projects and prepares justification for senior management approvalMonitors and reports performance of the manufacturing project (capital improvement or maintenance) to ensure that all contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are metPerforms other duties as requiredWHAT YOU HAVE:Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of ten years' experience in a related area; preferred to have three or more years of management experienceAutoCAD experience preferredWHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT:Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, waste reduction, and continuous improvementAbility to use sound creative thinking to solve complex manufacturing problemsEffective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills utilized to effectively interact with management, internal, and external customers. Includes the ability to create SOPs used in a manufacturing environment, understand technical proposals and reports, and make technical presentations to small groupsProficient in using a PC and other department-specific databases and/or systems, and all assigned machinery and related equipmentAbility to work in a high-pressure environment and exercise good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized guidelines and proceduresExcellent human resource management skills to effectively lead and direct a diverse work group and achieve results through team efforts.
