Project EngineerLocation: Projects in Concord, Hayward & Chico, CASalary: $70,000 - $100,000 DOEOverviewWe are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support both ground-up & rehab and multi-family residential & commercial projects across the Bay Area and Butte County regions. This role offers the opportunity to work with an established general contractor focused on delivering high-quality, community-driven developments including affordable housing and hotel facilities.The Project Engineer will play a key role in coordinating project documentation, supporting field and office teams, and ensuring projects progress smoothly from preconstruction through closeout. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to professional growth within the construction industry.Must HavesBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related fieldMinimum 2–3 years of experience supporting construction projects for a general contractorProven experience working on multi-family residential or similar vertical construction projectsStrong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and submittal processesProficiency with project management software platforms and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to effectively coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and design teamsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interpret and track RFI, ASI, and change order workflowsCommitment to maintaining project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocolsAuthorization to work in the United StatesNice to HavesExperience working on affordable housing developments or hotel construction projectsFamiliarity with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platformsExposure to preconstruction activities, estimating, or value-engineering processesUnderstanding of California building codes and local permitting requirementsExperience in the Sacramento or other Northern California construction marketsAbility to assist with BIM coordination or technology-driven project workflowsOSHA 30 certification or similar safety trainingResponsibilitiesSupport the project team in planning, coordinating, and executing multi-family residential and hospitality construction projectsReview, process, and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and related project documentationAssist with project scheduling, ensuring tasks and milestones remain on trackCoordinate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain project continuityPrepare meeting minutes, logs, reports, and other project documentation as requiredAssist with site walks, quality control checks, and verification of completed workSupport procurement processes, including materials tracking and subcontractor onboardingHelp monitor project budgets and cost events in collaboration with project managementEnsure all work aligns with safety standards, project specifications, and quality expectationsContribute to problem-solving efforts, proactively identifying and resolving project issuesFacilitate communication between field and office teams to ensure seamless project execution
