This position is located at our Toppenish Hospital in the Behavioral Health Unit. Shift: 7:00am - 7:30pm - Details regarding days worked will be covered in the interview. What you get to do every day! As the Behavioral Health Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider, and general clinical duties. You will:Perform and provide patient care duties and assist patients with general hygiene as delegated by Program Director or designeeAssist with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and responding promptly to patient needs and requestsPrepare and disassemble patient rooms for admission and dischargeProvide support for the patient's therapeutic treatment planUtilize effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and therapeutic atmosphereFrequently observe and record patient information pertinent to treatment plan and report information to clinic teamComplete progress notes for assigned patients per program and hospital policyMust be capable of engaging in crisis management using policy-approved verbal de-escalation, physical and mechanical restraint techniques, as trained, when managing potentially dysregulated or combative patients, while ensuring the safety of self, patients, and staff without physical restrictions.Other duties as assignedCollaborate effectively across organizational boundariesAdheres to the core values and standards of the organization RequirementsHigh School Education or GEDWA State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration EligibleNursing Assistant Registration/Nursing Assistant Certification EligibleWA State Food Handler Card within 30 days of hireMust maintain BLSOral and written fluency in the English languageMinimum of one year experience in Behavioral Health or related field Preferred QualificationsCertified Nursing Assistant CAN/Nursing Assistant Registered NAR This position is identified as a safety-sensitive position for which impairment while on the job would present a substantial risk of death.
