Principal Job Duties.Perform and provide patient care duties and assist patients with general hygiene as delegated by Program Director or designeeAssist with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and responding promptly to patient needs and requestsPrepare and disassemble patient rooms for admission and dischargeProvide support for the patient’s therapeutic treatment planUtilize effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and therapeutic atmosphereFrequently observe and record patient information pertinent to treatment plan and report information to clinic teamComplete progress notes for assigned patients per program and hospital policyMust be capable of engaging in crisis management using policy-approved verbal de-escalation, physical and mechanical restraint techniques, as trained, when managing potentially dysregulated or combative patients, while ensuring the safety of self, patients, and staff without physical restrictions.Other duties as assignedCollaborate effectively across organizational boundariesAdheres to the core values and standards of the organizationSupervisory Status.This position does not supervise others.Safety Sensitive Status.This position is not a designated safety-sensitive position. Required Qualifications and Education.High School Education or GEDWA State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration EligibleCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred, or willing to obtain Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) upon hireWA State Food Handler Card within 30 days of hireMust maintain BLSOral and written fluency in the English languageMinimum of one year experience in Behavioral Health or related fieldPreferred Qualifications.Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or willing to obtain Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) immediately upon hire as well as successful completion of NAR Training in which the employee is able to demonstrate all required competenciesWorking Conditions.This position will work in a healthcare setting business environment with recurring exposure to moderate risks which require special safety and health precautions and the use of Personal Protective Equipment; risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, contaminated bodily fluids, sharp instruments, and other contaminants.This position will be required to work primarily in an indoor business environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation required:Must be physically capable of safely performing manual restraints and crisis intervention techniques in accordance with facility policy and The Joint Commission standards for the care, treatment, and safety of behavioral health patients.Must be able to assist in the physical management of patients weighing up to 250 pounds, using approved team-based restraint procedures.Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds independently, and sustain physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, and restraining patients for extended periods.Completion of facility-approved de-escalation and restraint training (ProAct or equivalent) is required prior to patient restraint and must be completed within 90 days of hire.Must demonstrate competency in restraint procedures and maintain ongoing certification as required by facility policy and regulatory guidelines.Frequently operates a computer and other clinical equipment,Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entryFrequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, patients and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions,Must be able to detect objects at a distance.
