Jacobs has an exciting opportunity in our Morristown, NJ location for a Water Resources Engineer and Modeler. By joining us, we’ll look to you to perform data collection, analysis, design, technical studies, and prepare reports associated with drainage and flood control related components for transportation and public works projects. Seeking advanced knowledge of 2-D modeling including the Sedimentation and River Hydraulics (SRH-2D) and HEC-RAS 2D software. Also requiring knowledge or experience with Steady and Unsteady-state HEC-RAS 1D modeling, Bridge/Tidal Scour Analysis and Countermeasure Design, and HEC- HMS (or equivalent). Experience using GIS to support engineering studies, and preparation of environmental and engineering documents/maps is desired. Previous survey/CAD experience is a plus, including knowledge with LiDAR data, surveying, 3-D surfaces, and datum adjustments. Assist in the engineering calculations, stormwater management, report writing, and GIS analysis as it related to NJDEP Flood Hazard Area Permit and Soil Erosion requirements.We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teammate to support local and regional clients. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering• Engineer in Training (EIT)• 2-4 years’ experience in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling• Knowledge of 2-D modeling including the Sedimentation and River Hydraulics (SRH-2D) and HEC-RAS 2D software• Knowledge of Steady and Unsteady-state HEC-RAS 1D modeling, Bridge/Tidal Scour Analysis and Countermeasure Design, and HEC- HMS (or equivalent).• MicroStation and AutoCAD experience including knowledge with LiDAR data, surveying, 3-D surfaces, and datum adjustments• Project engineering experience related to performance of water resources, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics design related projects• Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint Ideally, You’ll Also Have:• Master’s degree with emphasis in Hydrology/Hydraulics, Water Resources• Experience with New Jersey State Agencies or equivalent
