Division InformationDynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. Requisition SummaryThe Cost Accounting Lead position is located in McKinney, TX and will provide the ideal candidate with the opportunity to work in a growing and dynamic manufacturing environment with exposure to professional growth and advancement. The position will provide the opportunity to gain exposure to management, including the Controller, General Manager, Operations Manager and other department leadership.
The position will assist the Cost Accounting Manager in leading the cost team, and it also has high potential for growth and requires an individual that possesses a strong understanding of accounting concepts, takes initiative to solve problems, and is committed to promoting improvements.
Job ResponsibilitiesParticipate in month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, the review of general ledger account reconciliations and financial reports, and the analysis of variance accounts
Perform financial analysis, which includes the monthly sales review, monthly cost of sales analysis, and forecast activities
Work closely with various departments, such as Materials, Engineering, Operations, and Master Data to ensure standard costs are accurate
Collaborate with the Logistics department to ensure monthly freight forecast and accruals are accurate
Drive process and system improvements, including expanded SAP functionality
Assist in the facilitation of control activities related to inventory accuracy, including statistical inventory audits
Complete special projects as assigned, including labor studies, BOM audits, and retro price reviews
Required SkillsStrong analytical and technical accounting skills
Proficiency in financial analysis and cost accounting
Strong leadership and continuous improvement mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail with strategic thinking capability
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Self-motivated with strong time management and deadline focus
Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, data analysis)
ERP system proficiency (SAP preferred)
EducationBachelor's degree in accounting (required)
Master's degree in accounting, Finance, or MBA (preferred)
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience (preferred)
CPA or MBA (preferred)
