Psychiatric Therapist - 1st shift - Full-time

Responsible for conducting mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for Medical Centers Behavioral Health. Incorporates knowledge and expertise in identifying employee's needs and then participates with other departments to implement classes and programs which promote employee's health and well-being.Provides mental health assessments, triage, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up for clients through Medical Centers Behavioral Health.Provides therapeutic environment for clients and ensures confidentiality.Completes clinical documentation for all activities.Provides information on internal and external programs and resources to clients, including telephone inquiries.Prepare and present educational classes on related subjects as needed.Education RequiredMA or MS in mental health related field from an accredited college or university required.Education PreferredLicense, Certification and/or RegistrationAlabama license or certification eligible in field of specialty within 1 year of hire.ExperienceMinimum of two years experience in mental health related field involving group and individualtherapy preferred.Additional Skills/AbilitiesMust be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasksfrequently and quickly.Excellent communication skills necessary with the ability to handle difficult interpersonalsituations.• Must be able to develop classes and present in classroom or group setting.
