In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.The Product Performance Technician performs receiving, decontamination, and disposal activities for returned complaint products.What You’ll Work OnMaintains accurate entry of complaint product return and decontamination in the applicable databaseRead the complaint description to determine if decontamination is requiredWorking knowledge of MSDSMaintains an accurate return log of all products receivedRecords condition of returned products including observations and incoming photographsAdheres to universal precautions and safe chemical handling practices at all times; utilizes personal protective equipment as needed (e.g. mask and gown)Performs decontamination of complaint products per procedureCollaborates with other team members and departments needing complaint product return informationAdheres to departmental procedures for retention and disposal of productRequired Qualifications : High school diploma requiredApplicants with similar laboratory experience are a plus.Strong written and oral communication skills are requiredCandidate must be able to work well independently and on teams in a busy department while managing multiple ongoing tasks simultaneouslyGood computer skills are requiredAbility to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environmentMultitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely mannerStrong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detailPhysical demands include : Activities require a significant amount of time sitting in front of a computer monitor, moderate standing, walking, bending, and lifting various shaped items up to 50 pounds. Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment. Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination.
