Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Title: Media ClerkSalary Schedule: PCSD ClassifiedDepartment: SchoolJob Code: 144200Reports To: PrincipalWork Schedule: 190 days/7.5 hr.Grade/Level: C-1FLSA: Non-ExemptPrimary Function: General clerical/technology skills preferably including familiarity with a library or media centerWorking Conditions:Physical Demands:School Office EnvironmentDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboardConstant interruptionsHearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephoneSeeing to read a variety of materialsSitting for extended periods of timeBending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materialsQualifications:Minimum of high school diploma or GEDTwo (2) years of general clerical experience involving public contactThe Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.Essential Functions:Circulate resources and other materials, and return them to designated areasInspect returned materials and equipment for damage, repair books and periodicals as neededGenerate a list of overdue materials, issue notices, and receive overdue fines, if applicableProcess new books, audio-visual materials, periodicals, equipment, and other materialsAssist students and staff in locating materials and answer questions regarding media servicesAssist media specialist with clerical dutiesMaintain bulletin boards and other displaysOperate various equipment associated with the media centerOperate computers to circulate and locate materials, access information, generate reports, and conduct inventoryMaintain records, lists and catalogs related to multi-media materialsLearn basic copyright lawsLearn District organization, operations, policies, and proceduresPrioritize, schedule and complete work accurately and on timeCommunicate with faculty, staff, and others to provide information regarding equipment operation, media availability and circulation proceduresParticipate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignmentEnsure adherence to appropriate safety proceduresFollow federal and state laws, as well as Board policiesPerform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designeeApplicants will be selected for interview.
