The ideal candidate has experience with vehicle revenue recognition, inventory accounting, order-to-cash processes, and operational accounting impacts, while partnering cross-functionally across finance, sales, operations, and legal.This person is hands-on, proactive, highly analytical, and comfortable creating controls, solving complex accounting issues, and mentoring teams in a high-growth environment.What You Get To DoApply ASC 606 analysis to vehicle and vehicle-related sales, including identification of performance obligations, transaction price allocation, and principal vs. agent assessmentRecord and reconcile customer deposits arising from vehicle orders placed prior to deliveryDevelop, design, and partner with the business to execute the vehicle order-to-cash (O2C) process end-to-endDesign and implement internal controls and accounting policies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of vehicle and vehicle-related revenue recognitionAnalyze finished goods vehicle inventory for lower-of-cost-or-net realizable value (LCNRV) in accordance with ASC 330-10Review and oversee non-manufacturing COGS accounting, including logistics, fulfillment, and transaction-related costsRecord and reconcile vehicle sales returns and allowancesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, Legal, and FP&A, to ensure alignment of vehicle revenue recognition policies and practicesDevelop and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA required; active license preferred7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in public accountingDeep expertise in ASC 330 and ASC 606, including principal/agent and variable consideration; ability to research, document, and defend technical positionsAutomotive, EV, or vehicle remarketing industry experience strongly preferredAdvanced Excel required; NetSuite or similar ERP experience a plusAnticipates downstream accounting implications of operational decisions before they become problemsDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop staffComfortable building scalable processes from scratchWHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?At Slate, we’re fueled by grit, determination, and attention to detail.
