Position DescriptionAn exciting and challenging opportunity within the Advanced Circuit & Packaging business for an Applications Engineer, located in Marlborough, MA. The position in the metallization group of Advanced Packaging Metallization will focus on leading and supporting applications projects for customers in NAR/EUR region. Key areas of focus will include products and materials for lead-free solder, Ni UBM/barrier layer, and copper applications, ranging from copper pillar, RDL, TSV, and dual damascene.Roles Responsibilities• Lead & support customer engagements for metallization product portfolio within the Advanced Circuit and Packaging business• Well-organized execution of customer demos and product troubleshooting to meet customer timelines; Collect, analyze and summarize data with appropriate documentation• Design and execute experiments, including operation of equipment and instrumentation for electroplating of metals, electrochemistry, chromatography, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, material and mechanical testing, etc.• Present technical reports internally and externally to customers & OEMs• Work with global Applications, New Product Development & Development Engineering teams to share technical findings and to receive technical input• Strict adherence to enhanced safety protocols and ability to work safely and participate in all group safety activitiesSkills• Demonstrated ability to handle wet chemistry and operate standard chemical and analytical instrumentation and equipment.• Highly motivated and effective at working both individually and within a team environment to accomplish tasks and project goals• Materials or Inorganic chemist with plating bath formulation or metal electrodeposition experience• Experience with various solution and material analytical techniques, including electrochemistry, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), etc.• Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of statistics and design of experiments (DOE) principlesEducation• B.S. in Chemistry, Chem. E., Materials Sci. or related discipline
