Location: On-SiteEmployment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Import/Export Logistics Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of domestic and international shipments in support of our production and shipping operations. This role is critical to ensuring on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across internal teams, carriers, and logistics partners.This is a hands-on, on-site role aligned closely with our Production and Shipping teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.Work ScheduleFour (4) 10-hour days aligned with Production and Shipping schedulesSchedule determined by operational needsOvertime required based on shipping volume and production demandsMust be available during core operational hoursOn-site position (remote work not available)Key ResponsibilitiesShipping & Import/Export OperationsManage end-to-end shipment processes (air, ocean, and domestic)Coordinate FCL, LCL, parcel, LTL, and full truckload shipmentsSchedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight forwardersTrack shipments and provide real-time updatesSupport urgent and production-driven shipmentsDocumentation & CompliancePrepare commercial invoices, packing lists, and export documentationEnsure proper HTS/Schedule B classificationMaintain accurate import/export recordsCoordinate customs clearance with brokersEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations and IncotermsProduction & Shipping SupportPartner closely with Production and Shipping teamsAlign shipment schedules with production timelinesSupport same-day and priority shipmentsAssist with staging and execution planningEnsure timely shipment of completed ordersCarrier & Freight ManagementCommunicate with freight forwarders and logistics providersNegotiate shipping rates and provide recommendationsCoordinate pickups and deliveriesResolve delays, issues, and service disruptionsTracking & SystemsEnter and manage transportation data in ERP systemsMaintain shipment tracking, milestones, and audit trailsMonitor shipment progress from departure to proof of deliveryProvide status updates to internal stakeholdersCommunication & Customer SupportProvide timely shipment updates to internal teams and customersResolve shipment and documentation issuesMaintain professional, clear communicationSupport order fulfillment deadlinesCost & Process ManagementReview freight costs and identify savings opportunitiesEnsure accurate billing and cost trackingMonitor logistics performance metricsRecommend and implement process improvementsQualifications3–5+ years of import/export or logistics experience preferredExperience in freight forwarding, shipping, or manufacturing environments strongly preferredWorking knowledge of air, ocean, and domestic transportationUnderstanding of customs clearance and import/export documentationExperience with ERP systems preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and manage urgent shipmentsStrong communication and coordination skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with production teamsEffective time management and execution focusAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWork EnvironmentOn-site, fast-paced manufacturing settingFrequent interaction with production and shipping floorExtended hours may be required during peak periods
