Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Technician I to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ethernet wiring, phone systems, security cameras, gate access, and control systems. This role requires a strong understanding of low voltage systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Ethernet Wiring & Networking:
Install, terminate, and test Ethernet cables (Cat5e, Cat6, etc.) in commercial environments.
Configure and deploy basic WAN/WLAN/LAN solutions
Ensure proper labeling and documentation of network infrastructure.
Diagnose and repair network connectivity issues.
Phone System Support & Troubleshooting:
Install, configure, and maintain VoIP and analog phone systems.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for phone system issues.
Assist with user training and documentation related to phone systems.
Security Camera Systems:
Install and configure IP and analog security cameras.
Perform regular maintenance checks, software updates, and troubleshoot camera systems.
Monitor and ensure the integrity of video storage and retrieval systems.
Gate & Access Control Systems:
Install, configure, and maintain gate operators, keypads, card readers, and other access control devices.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with gate and access control systems.
Ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and repairs.
Document system configurations, wiring schematics, and changes.
Provide reports on system performance and suggest improvements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in low voltage systems is a plus.
2+ years of experience in Ethernet wiring, phone systems, or access control systems.
Proficiency with tools and equipment used in low voltage installations.
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Understanding of IP Camera protocols and terminology (ONVIF, H.264/265).
Previous experience with network switches and access points (Dell, Cisco, Ubiquiti).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Obtain Alarm/Locksmith Trainee license within 90 days of hire date.
Maintain and renew required licenses (Genetec, Axis, etc).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, crawl spaces, and outdoor settings.
Ability to stand, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Work Environment:
This role is a mix of in office, field work, and occasional travel within the state.
