Intern - IT Services Engineer I

Position SummaryThe IT Services Engineer I Intern is an entry-level, seasonal role designed for individuals beginning their IT careers. No prior IT experience is requiredhands-on training and coaching will be provided. This role supports the IT Managed Services team by delivering great customer service, learning troubleshooting fundamentals, and completing service requests using established processes and best practices.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAll areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in "other related duties as assigned":Provide IT generalist support to customers while building greater technical understanding and awareness.Document and resolve incoming service requests and alerts, including escalations and manufacturer support.Collaborate with colleagues to achieve superior customer service.Answer support phone calls on a daily basis.Increase responsiveness and implement permanent resolution of issues by identifying trends in service histories.Create and publish documentation in the knowledge base.Contribute to and maintain system, installation, and configuration standards and procedures.Share newly acquired information with peers to improve support team capabilities.Comply with internal security controls and procedures for Loffler and customers.Participate in training and shadowing opportunities and apply new skills to support requests.Monitor service boards and work service requests or route to appropriate team members.Approach technical issues with root cause discovery and resolution in mind.Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent summer schedule.Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.Confident, professional phone presence.Strong team player.Responsible for understanding, staying updated on, and abiding by the Employee Handbook as written.Other related duties as assignedTraining provided for the following duties & responsibilities:User management in multiple environments.Permission management.How to use a ticketing system, manage time, and prioritize work.Using remote management applications.How to create, edit, and maintain documentation and processesWorking with multiple sources of incoming interactions (phone/chat/e-mail).Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Coursework, certificate program, or Associate/Bachelor's degree in IT (or related field) is helpful but not required.Technical certifications are preferred but not required.Basic computer skills (Windows and common office applications).Willingness to learn and take coaching; prior IT experience is not required.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work ConditionsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
