ACI Engineer

ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: The ACI Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, management, and optimization of Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) environments. This role requires a strong technical background in ACI operations, troubleshooting, and documentation, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will also contribute to knowledge transfer initiatives, roadmap development, and the creation of technical documentation to support ongoing and future network strategies. Key Responsibilities:ACI Configuration and ManagementConfigure and manage Cisco ACI environments, including port provisioning, network configuration, tenant management, and fault reduction.Utilize ACI GUI and Postman for configuration, testing, and documentation updates.Ensure ACI environments are optimized, compliant, and aligned with architectural best practices.Documentation and DiagrammingCreate, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including ACI Visio diagrams, runbooks, and Method of Procedure (MOP) templates.Develop and update Confluence pages and articles for internal knowledge sharing and technical reference.Troubleshooting and Problem ResolutionTroubleshoot and resolve ACI-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.Support customer fulfillment requests such as port and network changes, resolving associated incidents efficiently.Implement best practices and contribute to continuous improvement in ACI operations.Training and Knowledge TransferDesign and conduct internal training sessions (e.g., Lunch & Learn) to educate peers on ACI architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting.Develop proactive documentation, white papers, and technical guides to support long-term team enablement and knowledge retention.Strategic Planning and Roadmap DevelopmentCollaborate with architects to develop strategic ACI roadmaps and highlight the envisioned end state of ACI deployments.Participate in long-term infrastructure planning, ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.Provide input for network design improvements, automation initiatives, and capacity planning.Qualifications: Required:3–7 years of experience working with Cisco ACI or similar data center networking technologies.Strong understanding of ACI fabric concepts, including tenants, application profiles, endpoint groups (EPGs), and contracts.Experience using ACI GUI, APIC, and Postman for management and automation.Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical documentation and diagrams.Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex network issues.Preferred:Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP Data Center, CCIE Data Center, or Cisco ACI Specialist).Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible, REST APIs).Experience in developing and presenting technical training sessions.Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
