Plumbing Designer

About the RoleWe’re seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer/Designer with experience in MEP building systems to join our Atlanta team. This person will play a key role in designing plumbing systems for a variety of building types, including commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, and mixed‑use projects.You’ll work closely with mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineers, contribute to coordinated design solutions, and support projects from concept through construction.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, waste, vent, stormwater, natural gas, and specialty systems.Prepare plumbing plans, diagrams, specifications, and calculations.Perform system sizing, equipment selection, and code compliance reviews.Coordinate with internal MEP teams, architects, structural engineers, and external consultants.Conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction administration tasks as needed.Assist in developing project documentation for all design phases (SD, DD, CD).Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent technical design experience.Experience with MEP and building design systems—including drinking water, sanitary, waste, and domestic water distribution.Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for plumbing system design.Strong understanding of plumbing codes (IPC, UPC, NFPA standards, etc.).Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.EIT, CPD, or progress toward licensure is a plus.
