Senior Mechanical Engineer

Candidates must be a United States Citizen or Green Card Holder. Candidates must be able to work a hybrid work schedule out of our client's Atlanta, GA office. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule. Candidates must have an active Professional Engineer (PE) License as well as prior proven experience with Business Development (BD/BDM).We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for our client’s Duluth, GA office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our client’s business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.Qualifications:Perform the following functions:Design of HVAC and plumbing systems.Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.Lead design team efforts.Manage project team for budget and schedule control.Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.Conduct marketing/business development activities.Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.Ability to travel.QualificationsBachelor’s Degress (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required).10 to 15 years of experience.Experience with Load Calculation Software.Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Project Management experience and/or certifications.Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.Experience with energy modeling is a plus.Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.Active local industry involvement is a plus.This position is not eligible for citizenship sponsorship.
