We are seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the lead financial professional for our manufacturing and distribution company.
Job Summary
Reporting to the corporate CFO with a dotted line to the Company President, the Controller will be the senior finance resource on-site, responsible for the integrity of financial data, the efficiency of accounting operations, and the delivery of timely, accurate information to support local and corporate management decision-making. This is a hands-on role suited for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable serving as the go-to financial authority at the location level while maintaining alignment with broader organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Reporting & Close
o Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate financial statements on a defined timeline
o Prepare and present financial reports, variance analyses, and KPI dashboards to leadership
o Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled
· Cost Accounting & Inventory
o Oversee cost accounting for manufactured goods, including standard costing, variance analysis, and BOM review
o Partner with operations on inventory valuation, cycle count programs, and physical inventory reconciliation
· Cash & Treasury:
o Manage daily cash positioning and cash flow forecasting
o Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections activity
· Compliance & Controls
o Design and enforce internal controls across all financial processes
o Assist with annual financial audit
· Budgeting & Planning:
o Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with department heads
o Maintain rolling forecasts and provide scenario analysis to support strategic decisions
o Track actuals vs. budget and communicate variances with actionable commentary
· Team & Systems:
o Supervise and develop accounting staff
o Support technology and automation initiatives within the finance function
Qualifications
· Required:
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
o 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role
o Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
o Strong cost accounting background, including standard costing and inventory management
o Advanced Excel skills
o Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
· Preferred:
o CPA license or CMA certification
o NetSuite experience strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits
· Pay Range: $130,000-$160,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
