Technical Program Manager (12-Month Contract)Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid Onsite – 3 days/week)Position OverviewSeeking a Technical Program Manager for a year-long contract to oversee the development and delivery of vehicle controls electronic control units (ECUs). The role is hybrid, based in Irvine, CA, and requires onsite presence three days per week.Required Skills & QualificationsExperience: 6+ years on a program team or equivalentEducation: BS+ in Engineering or similar technical degreeTechnical Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of electronics design, development, validation, & integrationEngineering Experience: Prior experience in ME, EE, or systems engineeringVendor Management: Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and vendors for PCBA, mechanical housings, complex system, and high-level assembliesProgram Management: Ability to develop program plans, schedules, and define/manage program goalsProduct Launch: Proven experience in developing, launching, and sustaining complex productsProblem Solving: Demonstrated ability to address and solve complex issuesCommunication: Strong communication with executive staff and tracking/driving multiple projectsTeam Leadership: Strong team player and indirect leader, known for collaboration and trust-building across cross-functional teamsTravel: Willingness to travel as needed to support buildsWhat You Will Be DoingDevelopment & Delivery: Responsible for development and execution of vehicle controls ECUsScheduling: Work closely with Electrical Hardware Design team to create engineering & delivery schedules, tracking progress and deliverablesModule Development: Drive custom module development with in-house PCBA and mechanical assembliesRisk Mitigation: Identify programmatic risks; champion and raise issues, remove roadblocks to meet timelinesCross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with vehicle line, software, electrical, and other teams to drive critical path and synchronize deliveriesDesign Reviews: Lead ECU integration/design reviews, ensuring all pre-production builds are supported and vehicles are launched effectivelySupplier Coordination: Ensure timely delivery of components and assemblies for prototype builds, working with supply chain and integration teamsDocumentation: Push and support release of all engineering documentation for PLMPurchasing Support: Assist purchasing efforts to ensure timely deliveriesBudgeting: Plan and maintain project budget and forecast and manage risk registersLeadership: Exercise initiative, independent judgment, and indirect leadershipAdvocacy: Serve as the Electrical Hardware team’s voice among larger cross-functional teams, championing both team and vehicle interests through product stagesDrive Deliverables: Manage the design, development, release, and validation for various ECUsReporting: Maintain awareness of program deliverables and report status/risks for visibility among teamsYou will receive the following benefits:Medical Insurance & Health Savings Account (HSA)401(k)Paid Sick Time LeavePre-tax Commuter BenefitMotion Recruitment provides IT Staffing Solutions (Contract, Contract-to-Hire, and Direct Hire) in major North American markets.
