Area Driver Manager

OverviewReporting to the Regional VP, the Area Driver Manager (ADM) is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of driver managers/supervisors within a designated region. This role involves ensuring that drivers adhere to company policies and safety regulations, optimizing route efficiency, and providing support and guidance to enhance performance and job satisfaction, including effective employee/labor relations, driver retention, and driver safety. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in transportation or logistics, and a keen ability to solve problems and manage multiple tasks efficiently.* Leadership role eligible for annual 15% bonus.*ResponsibilitiesDevelops strategic plans for optimized performanceReview operational effectiveness by overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment, and implementing changesInterviews, selects, trains, and manages Driver Managers and SupervisorsEnsures all personnel have been trained and/or retrained according to operational proceduresFollows up with new drivers at regular scheduled intervals on their performanceReviews manpower needs and ensures proper coverage including managing driver dispatch for route personnelEnsures drivers are reporting to work on time and in complete uniform ready to workEnsures employee development by providing ongoing feedback to teams concerning strengths and areas of needed improvement using DriveCam reporting and customer feedbackInvestigates and acts on feedback regarding drivers and safe operational practicesResponsible for planning of future books offs and run change assignmentEnsures compliance with safety standards, adherence to all DOT and FMCSA regulationsEnsures that all company standards are met for all drivers in the areas of appearance, training, education, safety, and regulatory complianceMake sure drivers are properly credentialed to operate a commercial motor vehicleWork closely with HR to address all levels of personnel mattersWork with drivers to ensure good labor relations are maintainedEnsure the following of the CBA to ensure proper handling of grievance processReview electronic DOT logs and/or paper DOT logs.
