Job description:A well-established precision manufacturer in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Senior Acme CNC Setup Technician – Technical Lead to join its machining operations team. This is a high-level role for an experienced Acme multi-spindle professional who thrives in hands-on setup, process optimization, and technical leadership.This position offers strong compensation, stability, and the opportunity to play a key role in process ownership, quoting support, and continuous improvement initiatives.Position OverviewThe Senior Acme Setup Technician serves as the technical lead for assigned multi-spindle machines and product families. This role is responsible for advanced setups, process optimization, troubleshooting, and supporting quoting and cost estimating activities.This is not an operator-only role. We are seeking someone who understands the full machining ecosystem, from cam timing and tooling strategy to cycle time optimization and cost drivers.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Setup & Technical LeadershipPerform complete setups and changeovers on Acme multi-spindle machinesOptimize feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and cam timingTroubleshoot complex machining and material issuesEstablish repeatable setup standards and best practicesMentor and support operators and junior setup techniciansCollaborate with maintenance on machine capability and preventive planningQuality & Process ControlInterpret complex blueprints and GD&T requirementsLead first-article inspections and validationSupport internal and customer auditsDrive root cause analysis and corrective actionsQuoting & Cost Estimating SupportReview prints and materials for new quoting opportunitiesDevelop process routings and estimated cycle timesIdentify cost drivers and improvement opportunitiesValidate assumptions during first production runsContinuous ImprovementSupport lean and process improvement initiativesReduce changeover time and improve machine utilizationStandardize work and documentationRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on Acme or similar multi-spindle setup experienceStrong blueprint reading skills including GD&TAdvanced knowledge of tooling, materials, feeds, and speedsProven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilityExperience with precision measurement toolsAbility to work independently and make technical decisionsPreferred QualificationsTechnical lead or senior setup backgroundExperience supporting quoting or cost estimatingERP/MRP familiarityLean manufacturing or continuous improvement experienceExperience with new product launches or PPAPWhat's OfferedCompetitive pay based on experienceOvertime opportunitiesMedical, dental, vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysStable, long-term opportunity with technical growthBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offWork Location: In person
