Since 2000, we have worked with approximately 400 nonprofit and for-profit organizations, helping clients build strong financial foundations so they can focus on their mission.We are looking for a proactive, forward-thinking Accounting Director who enjoys leading teams, advising clients, solving problems, and supporting mission-driven organizations.What You'll DoIn this role, you will:Act as the Accounting Director and outsourced CFO-level resource for a portfolio of nonprofit clientsBuild trusted relationships with executive directors, finance committees, boards, and client leadership teamsOversee monthly close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and balance sheet review processesReview and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and key financial trendsPresent financial results and insights to client leadership in a clear, practical, and mission-focused wayHelp clients understand their financial position and identify opportunities for improvementAdvise clients on budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, grant reporting, restricted funds, and nonprofit accounting best practicesSupport audit preparation and serve as a knowledgeable liaison between the client and external auditorsSupervise, mentor, and support staff accountants working across multiple client engagementsIdentify ways to improve workflows, reporting accuracy, systems, and overall client serviceWork with a great Team of likeminded professionalsProvide proactive guidance that helps nonprofit organizations strengthen operations and advance their missions This Could Be a Great Fit If You AreQualifications and SkillsThe ideal candidate will bring:Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related fieldCPA designation preferred4 to 6 years of accounting or audit experience2 to 5 years of nonprofit audit or nonprofit accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP financial statementsExperience with nonprofit accounting, reconciliations, and balance sheet analysisGeneral ledger experienceBudgeting and forecasting experience preferredStrong communication and client management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environmentA genuine desire to support nonprofit organizations and their missionsWhy Join eCratchit?We offer:Full-time positionFlexible working environmentWork-from-home opportunitiesMedical, dental, and ancillary benefitsCollaborative, supportive team cultureOpportunity to make a meaningful impact across many nonprofit organizationseCratchit is proud to have been named one of Accounting Today's Best Accounting Firms to Work For in 2023 and recognized among Accounting Today's Top 100 Firms and Regional Leaders in 2022.
