To this end, students from one year old in our Small World program to grade 5 have 50% of their academic learning in English and 50% in Spanish or Chinese instruction, depending on language track.Job DescriptionWHAT YOU'LL DOTeach engaging, creative curriculum and lessons, aligned with Avenues' expectations and approachLead English literacy curriculum, including phonics curriculum, differentiated reading groups, and writing units of studyCo-plan mathematics instruction with head teacher and lead English mathematics lessons and student work centersCollaborate closely with a team of English, Spanish, and Chinese immersion teachers to continually improve student learning and school cultureExperience conducting formal and informal assessments and analyzing student data to inform instructionDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment ease in effectively prioritizing multiple tasks and competing demandsStrong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skillsParticipate actively in ongoing professional learningHelp to build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a joyful communityFoster strong relationships with students, families and parentsQualificationsWHAT YOU'LL BRINGAt least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in KindergartenSolid understanding of early literacy and math pedagogy and instructionDeep dedication to learning and developing the craft of teachingSuperb ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve goalsCuriosity and humility, to reflect, welcome feedback, and continually grow in teaching practiceBachelor's degree required, master's candidates in early childhood or bilingual education strongly preferredAdditional InformationIf hired for this position, the annual salary range is between $53,000 - $67,000. The salary may vary depending on your professional experience and skills.
