Our focus is on building practical, high-performance systems that support real experimental workflows across academic, pharmaceutical, and clinical environments.As our product capabilities expand, we are investing in high-quality technical documentation to ensure our users can effectively deploy, adapt, and scale their experiments.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Technical Writer with hands-on electrophysiology experience to develop clear, accurate, and technically rigorous documentation for our systems.This role is best suited for someone who has directly conducted in vivo experiments and understands the gap between how systems are designed and how they are actually used in the lab.You will be responsible for translating complex hardware/software workflows into structured documentation that supports both new and experienced users.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical DocumentationDevelop and maintain user manuals, including system setup, recording workflows, and troubleshooting guidesCreate knowledge base articles to address common user issues and edge casesScientific & Application Content: write technical notes and white papers covering topics such as:In vivo electrophysiology workflowsNeural signal acquisition and processingOptogenetics and fiber photometry integrationBCI/BMI and closed-loop experimental paradigmsWorkflow TranslationConvert real experimental use cases into clear, reproducible documentationIdentify gaps in usability or documentation based on writing and user perspectiveCross-functional CollaborationWork with engineering and application teams to validate technical accuracyProvide feedback on product usability and documentation structureDocumentation StandardsContribute to building consistent documentation frameworks, templates, and terminologyRequired QualificationsMSc or PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related fieldHands-on experience with in vivo electrophysiology, including:Experimental designSurgical implantationData acquisition and analysisExperience with electrophysiology platforms such as:Open EphysTDT (Tucker-Davis Technologies)Blackrock Neurotechor comparable systemsFamiliarity with:OptogeneticsFiber photometryClosed-loop or BCI/BMI systemsDemonstrated ability in technical or scientific writing (e.g., publications, protocols, internal documentation)Strong written English with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and precisionAbility to work independently in a remote environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience writing user-facing technical documentation (manuals, SOPs, or product documentation)Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Notion, Confluence)Ability to create supporting visuals (figures, diagrams, workflow schematics)Exposure to commercial or product development environmentsWorking ModelFully remote with flexible schedulingPart-time commitment (hours defined based on availability and deliverables)Occasional overlap with Taiwan (GMT+8) for collaboration, when neededWhy This RoleThis role is designed for researchers who want to apply their experimental expertise in a focused, high-impact way—without stepping fully into a commercial or customer-facing position.Clear, technically sound documentation is critical to how our products are adopted and used.
