Certified Cloud Engineer
Position Title: Cloud EngineerLocation: Atlanta, Georgia. Remote candidates will be considered.Overview: The Simple VUE, LLC is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with a minimum of six (6) years of hands-on cloud engineering experience to support federal and commercial client engagements. The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, secure, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. This position requires demonstrated senior-level proficiency in cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and cloud security, validated by at least one qualifying certification from the list below. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision, produce high-quality technical deliverables, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.Required:Applications submitted without at least one qualifying certification on file will not be considered. PDFs downloaded directly from the issuing institution are preferred.Amazon Web Services (AWS):- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional- AWS Certified Security – Specialty- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – SpecialtyMicrosoft Azure:- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)Google Cloud Platform (GCP):- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect- Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security EngineerKey Responsibilities:- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or Deployment Manager- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, and compliance controls- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of cloud-hosted applications and services- Evaluate existing cloud architectures and recommend documented improvements for performance, cost optimization, and security posture- Support cloud migration activities including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecture of on-premises workloads- Develop and maintain cloud operations documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures- Collaborate with development, security, and program management teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing IT operations and project requirements- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security issues; implement corrective actions and proactive alerting- Support compliance activities including FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and CMMC requirements as applicable to client engagementsRequired Qualifications:- Minimum six (6) continuous years of hands-on cloud engineering experience in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud architectures for enterprise or federal environments- Demonstrated experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation workflows- Demonstrated experience implementing cloud security controls including IAM policies, conditional access, network security groups, and encryption- Strong technical documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks- Ability to operate with minimal supervision and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholdersEducation & Certifications:A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent field is preferred. Relevant cloud certifications may substitute for a formal college degree; however, demonstrated hands-on experience is mandatory and may not be substituted.Work Authorization:Must be authorized to work in the United States.
