Information Specialist
Health Advances is seeking a full-time Information Specialist to join the Knowledge Management team to assist project teams with secondary research and to help build our proprietary knowledge base. Experience in one or more healthcare areas (biopharma, medtech, diagnostics & life science tools, healthcare services, health IT, health economics, market access) is strongly preferred. The position is based in Newton, MA.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with project and business development teams, providing data and literature research supportRespond to requests by creatively surveying Health Advances' internal holdings and external resources with results tailored to meet individual project objectivesUsing in-depth knowledge of industry sources, proactively advise project teams of resources that may be helpful to complete specific projectsProvide ongoing support for one or more business development teamsParticipate in building Health Advances' knowledge base, including some or all of the following:On an ongoing basis, identify, evaluate, and document external resources for use by project teams, focusing on one or more areas of healthcareHelp to develop and implement new knowledge products and servicesSupport information, data, and resource discovery by describing and tagging both internal and external contentWork as part of a seamless team to address the spectrum of information and knowledge needs of Health Advances staff in Newton, MA, San Francisco, Zug, Switzerland, and Hong KongPerform other duties as required, including dissemination of current awareness materials and assistance with training to consulting staff QUALIFICATIONSEducation & ExperienceMaster's Degree in Library/Information Science, or equivalent education and experience a plusA minimum of 2 years year of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably corporate information services, marketing, business development, or knowledge managementUndergraduate degree in healthcare-related field a plus Technical SkillsDetailed knowledge of healthcare industry resources, including public data and statistics, business databases, and clinical materials strongly preferred. At a minimum, interest in the healthcare industry and ability to develop expertise in a complex subject areaExperience with a variety of healthcare resources, particularly in the use of competitive intelligence databases from IQVIA, Norstella, Citeline, GlobalData, Refinitiv LSEG, and Factiva, as well as government systems such as PubMed and ClinicalTrials.govKnowledge of information management technologies such as collaboration and search toolsProficient in Microsoft Office suite of products including SharePointProfessional SkillsMust be able to work in a collaborative and supportive team environmentStrong customer service orientation and demonstrated ability to exercise creativity in resolving customers' information needsExcellent communication (both oral and written), time management, organization, and teamwork skillsAttention to detail with the ability to multitask and deal gracefully with a fast-paced environment with speed and accuracyRespect for confidentialityGenuine interest in healthcare and the firm's mission Work ExpectationsMust reside in the Boston area and work onsite at the Newton, MA office ~2 days per weekFull-time role at 45 hours per weekStandard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pmETPermanent US work authorization required Health Advances offers a creative and stimulating work environment, a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, and a challenging career opportunity. The start date is June 15, 2026.The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The base pay range for this role is $80-85,000 USD. You are eligible for an annual incentive program (with a reasonable first year estimate ranging from $0-$5,100 USD).
