Job Summary
We are seeking a *Manufacturing Inspector * to join our manufacturing team in Piney Flats, Tennessee. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills and gain hands-on experience in aviation manufacturing and quality inspection.
The Manufacturing Inspector I will work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to inspect aviation parts, assemblies, raw materials, and finishes to ensure they meet established quality and design requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect aviation parts, assemblies, raw materials, and finishes under supervision.
* Operate basic inspection, testing, and measuring equipment as required.
* Use blueprints, diagrams, engineering orders, work instructions, and manufacturing drawings to verify compliance with design requirements.
* Approve or reject manufacturing work based on established quality standards.
* Communicate inspection results, approvals, rejections, and related details to manufacturing and engineering personnel.
* Complete required inspection documentation under supervision.
* Follow all work instructions, policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality processes.
* Perform entry-level inspections within an assigned manufacturing area.
* Develop technical knowledge and communication skills while working as part of a manufacturing team.
Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED.
* 0–1 years of experience relevant to the job duties.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as scales, calipers, and tape measures.
* Ability to understand basic blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
* Ability to complete required documentation accurately under supervision.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
Physical & Working Conditions
* Ability to stand for extended periods, up to the duration of a work shift.
* Ability to kneel, squat, stand, sit, and carry materials throughout the workday.
* Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds.
* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including protective gloves and safety glasses.
* Ability to work in an environment with exposure to chemicals, dust, odors, and machine heat cycles.
* Ability to work around mild chemical odors, including lacquer thinner, proseal, and adhesives.
