Quick Job Details Job Title: Travel Labor & Delivery RN / OB RN Location: Jacksonville, NC (zip 28546) — Onsite travel nursing job Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 - July 6, 2026) Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Unit: Labor & Delivery (10 beds) — perinatal care & triage Employment Type: Travel nurse, On-Site Weekend Coverage: Required Orientation: Provided onsite Candidate Requirement: No local candidates — must reside outside a 50-mile radius Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930-$2030 Qualifications / Job Requirements Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state RN license (required) Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Labor & Delivery or OB/GYN nursing Travel nursing experience required for this travel nurse role Current certifications (must be in hand prior to start): BLS (American Heart Association) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) ACLS (within last 6 months) CPI (must be in hand prior to start) Meditech charting experience preferred (training available if needed) COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed Primary Responsibilities Provide direct obstetrical nursing care including assessment, medication administration, documentation, and patient education Coordinate and carry out provider orders; evaluate and document patient responses Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and triage care in a busy L&D unit Assist with and perform high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections as needed Use external and internal fetal monitoring; recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Administer blood products, IV therapy, infusion pumps, and medications (including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, insulin drips, and antiseizure medications) Perform sterile vaginal exams, reflex and edema assessments, and clonus evaluations Assist with neonatal resuscitation, thermoregulation, and initial newborn care Manage epidural anesthesia monitoring, pain control, and postpartum hemorrhage interventions Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, evidence-based perinatal care Why Apply (Travel Nursing Benefits) Opportunity to work a focused 13-week travel nursing contract in Labor & Delivery Hands-on L&D and perinatal nursing experience in a modern unit Onsite orientation to support successful start and integration into the care team Exposure to a full scope of obstetrical and neonatal care—great for L&D RNs strengthening clinical skills Apply now to join this Jacksonville, NC travel nursing opportunity for Labor & Delivery RNs.
